Forget and Forgive

Forget and Forgive
Since New York World Trade Twin Towers was destroyed by “terrorist” on September 11, 2001. America has exerted extra ordinary efforts to capture the terrorist leaders. But after seven years of worldwide tracking , they could not fnd “Osama Bin Laden” .There is so much inconvenience to the worldwide travellers with their tight security check on air, sea and land travel. This has made so many American and European airline travel agents lose money. Some had gone bankrupt!.
Most of the nine hundred million Muslims in the world are unhappy with America.... because America always keep a suspicious eye on them to see if they are terrorists.
Therefore it’s the wrong way to find terrorist, to fight terrorist, and to solve the terrorist problems. I think America should consider to let gone by gone, try to forget 9.11 tragedy and forgive those criminals, in order to win back the hearts of nine hundred million Muslims ... let them alone. Don’t try to sell freedom, democracy and human rights to them.. if they don’t want to buy.

In Chinese, it has been said“ Good man scare to fight with bad man. Bad man is scare to fight with the man who does not scare of die.” It’s not worth for the supper power countries to fight with those dare to die man. Otherwise, there will be more and more Muslim become dare to die man! And the suicide booming or “ hit and run” games will be without end.

The Chinese proverb said” Vent one is hatred better than create more enemy!” The America and western countries leaders should learn this proverb and review the fighting terrorist policy.

I think it is too simplistic to say
"Forget and Forgive".It is reasonable to expect the same of China with regards to the Nanking massarce, which according to the Japanese did not take place.

The capture of Osama will be a moral victory for the US.Osama and his followers have distorted and highjacked the Islam religion with so much hatred for moderate Muslims and others who are perceived as against Islam.

In fact, this strategy has and continue to backfire(d) in Iraq to the extent that it has contributed to the "success" of the US's surge strategy.Basically, sectarian violence sponsored and supported by Al Qaeda has resulted in both physically destruction as well as,more tragically,Muslim fatalities.Al Qaeda members are Sunni's and they are encouraged to kill Shites Muslims.Does this make sense?

Sure,US intervention in Iraq started this wave of physical and human destruction but terrorists, sponsored and supported by Al Qaeda, intensify it.
Political and defense analysts as well as political leaders are now saying that the war in Afganistan is even more crucial and strategically critical for US and Nato to win if Osama and its name of terrorism are to be defeated.
In the final analysis,Muslims around the world must decide how they want the world to perceive their religion.Right now this perception is overwhelmingly negative.

Dear Robert,

Sorry sir,the Nanking massacre and New York 9.11 cases are uncompareable. The Nanking massacre was the strong powerful army killing a few hundred thousand ignorance civilians.Whereas 9.11 was a super power nation .was attacked by a group of "Terrorist."

Of course "the capture of Osama will be a great moral victory for the US." But after 7 years of world wide searching still can't find Osama! Its the great loss of money and faces of the US.Therefore the "Forget and Forgive" could be the only way out for the US to resolve this embarassing situation.

Since "the war in Afghanistan is even more crucial and stragically for US and NATO to win", then why not stop it? To support my idea I would like to quote some of Thomas L.Friedman article published August 26,2008 in the New York Time.Which he said "We need to finish our Business in Iraq and Afghanistan as quickly as possible...we need Nation-Building at home now---not in Iraq, not in Afghanistan, not in Georgia but in America.....

Hello Liu,

It is naive to expect US to forget and forgive 9/11 and I think it is comparable to Nanking massacre in terms of killing of innocent civilains.
US and Nato must finish the job in Afganistan which is the breeding ground for world terrorists and terrorism.Unfortunately, the govt. of Afganistan is not effective and corrupt. But failure in Afganistan is not an option.

Dear St Liu,
While I agree that the US has lost some prestige in the world during the current Bush administration,it will continue to a superpower for a forseeable time.In hindsight,it is easy to see that Iraq war as a mistake but US did not invade Traq alone;it had a coalition "of the willing",including some Arab states that provided logistics help and bases.
Also,do not forget that Al Qeada started the "conflict" with the US with 9/11.Osama did not like the idea of US presence in Saudi Arabia but he did not say that the Saudi were the ones who invited the US to be in their country.

The US may not be popular but do not think that Al Qaeda or Muslim terrorists are popular.Do not also forget that it is the aim of the Muslim terrorism group to create a Muslim caliphate that extends from the Middle East to SE Asia.If they are successful,Singapore will become a Muslim state.I am sure you will not want this to happen.

It is easy for any nation to condemn the US when it is not a superpower.Being a superpower carries certain amount of global reponsibility.Sure the US has made mistakes the last 7 years under the Bush administration and future administrations will surely be seen to make mistakes because it is impossible to please all nations.

Robert

It is all depend. If US want to be respected and love by the world people, then they should take my advice not to continue to create more enemy, and make the world become more peacefully as soon as posible!

Or if US choose to continue to fight "terrorist" to please some westerner. Then they bear in mind that their financial and economical will be in more critical situation and the super power nation may became a "paper tiger" one day!

Dear Robert.
I am ither pro-muslim nor against
the US, I am still stick to my
point that US should try to
forget and forgive the "terrorist"
in order to improve their
relationship with the muslim
countries.Resolve the hatred by
good faith is better then fighting
do not create more enemy is
important to the US.

I am sure the new US president(if
the Democratic win }will manage
to stop the war and solve the
the terrorist problams peacefully
like what i suggest.

From the result of the late US
vice-presidency debate, one can
see that there are more Americans
wanted to stop the war.Like what
I have predicted.

Hello ST Liu,
IF the Democrats win the next election, the new President might want to stop the war.But I think it is naive to suggest that US will forget or forgive the terrorists for 9/11.

US and its allies around the world cannot afford to see Iraq and Afganistan fall to the terrorisrs.

See you at the JETTY said...

Interesting view.

I don't think the US can forget the consequences of 911 simply because the event of 911 is caused more by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. (the USA sided Israel)

The invasion of Iraq is not to get rid of Saddam/WMD but an excuse to maintain the status quo of the USD as the Petro dollar in the world.
